Utilities Site Manager - Water Main Renewals Scheme
📍 Barnsley, South Yorkshire 💷 £400 per day PAYE 🕒 Full-Time Contract
We are currently seeking an experienced Utilities Site Manager to join a major Yorkshire Water Main Renewals Programme based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term infrastructure project delivering critical water network improvements across the region.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of water main renewal works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day site operations on water main renewal projects.
- Supervising direct labour, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Coordinating works with Yorkshire Water, local authorities, and stakeholders.
- Managing permits, traffic management, and street works activities.
- Monitoring programme performance and productivity.
- Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Producing progress reports and maintaining project documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within utilities, water, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of water main renewals and distribution network works.
- SMSTS certification.
- NRSWA Supervisor (preferred).
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work certificate.
- Experience managing programmes for Yorkshire Water or other UK water authorities would be advantageous.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
