Job description
You will assist the General Manager in managing a profitable business unit that meets budgetary expectations. You will ensure that the business unit always represents the company in the best possible light while adhering to core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and monitoring the work of production staff to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Understanding and monitoring the hours, materials, consumables, and equipment quoted on a job to ensure timely and budgetary completion
- Organising and attending various client meetings, maintaining regular client communication, and addressing any technical or operational queries
- Daily management of contractors and sub-contractors for assigned projects
- Planning labour and materials to keep jobs on schedule and within budget
- Ensuring compliance with SHE procedures
Job Requirements:
- Marine experience with a strong understanding of the industry (Fabrication/Welding/Pipe knowledge)
- Good understanding of IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills, including spoken and written English
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematic parts manuals, diagrams, and associated technical data and specifications
- Previous experience in supervising personnel, including monitoring work output and quality
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to meet business needs
