Job description
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Brackley
One of our Tier 1 clients sector is seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their team on a permanent basis in Brackley. We're seeking individuals that have 8+ years experience in the industry and have worked on highways/structures projects (£60mil+).
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage quantity surveying tasks and lead a small team of commercial staff
- Prepare and agree on variation accounts for main contracts and sub-contracts
- Monitor costs against targets and contract progress against accepted programmes
- Provide input into change control procedures for EOT, delays, and performance adjustment
- Prepare and agree on interim valuations, final valuations, and sub-contract final accounts
- Issue certification and payment of sub-contractors
- Provide contractual advice to management, ensuring compliance with contract and legal obligations
- Negotiate and resolve disputes, identifying and managing potential commercial risks
Job Requirements:
- Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification
- NEC3/NEC4 Contract experience
- Worked on large structures/civils, highways projects (£60mil+)
- Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar)
- Successful experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a track record of delivering positive commercial outcomes
- Strong ability to listen, learn, and implement new concepts while mentoring junior team members
- Proficiency in quantity surveying tasks and variation account management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
