FAQ

We know finding a new job or hiring can feel complex. That’s why we keep things clear, quick, and human. Our FAQs cut through the noise, no jargon, no fluff. Just straight-talking support from people who get it. And if you don’t see what you need? We’re already on it.

When it comes to setting sail for top earnings, roles like Ship Captain, Marine Engineer, and Naval Architect are at the helm. These positions often see paychecks of £60,000 to over £100,000 annually, depending on experience and expertise. Offshore specialists and Maritime consultants aren't far behind when it comes to salary packages; they’re often rewarded for their rare skills.

Navigating the Maritime world requires more than just technical know-how. Proficiency with modern navigation systems, understanding Maritime regulations, and mastering maintenance tools are crucial. Skills in leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication are also vital. After all, running a ship takes more than tools - it requires teamwork and smart decision-making.

In the Maritime arena, it’s not just about what you know but also how you’ve sailed through challenges. Experience carries a substantial weight because it showcases your ability to handle real-world situations. However, having the right skills is equally crucial. The best job opportunities often favour a combination of experience backed with specific Maritime skills.

Absolutely. Project management, mechanical engineering, and logistics skills travel well across industries. If you’re an excellent communicator and skilled in team management or possess a knack for problem-solving, you’ll find these qualities favoured on the seas too. Safety awareness and strategic thinking are additional anchors that help you dock into Maritime roles smoothly.

Certifications like STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) are often a must-have. A degree in Maritime Studies or Marine Engineering also opens doors. Specific roles may demand additional qualifications such as an MCA Certificate of Competence for seafarers or a Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport qualification.

Maritime professionals who’ve navigated the industry for over five years can expect salaries ranging from £40,000 to £80,000. Those with niche skills or working in highly specialised roles may see their earnings sail beyond these numbers.

Entry-level Maritime graduates typically start with salaries around £25,000 to £35,000 annually. The sector they dive into - whether it’s engineering, logistics, or operations - can influence this. With experience, the sea of opportunity only widens.

This is what we do. Industry networks, headhunting, specialist job boards, referrals - we know where the right people are, and we know how to get them on board.

We listen first. What do you need? Where’s the gap? Then: job brief, search, shortlist, placement. Fast, sharp, focused.

Properly. CV checked. Background verified. Skills tested when it matters. If they’re not right, they don’t make the shortlist. Simple as that.

If it doesn’t work out, we’ll put it right. Agreed upfront, no grey areas, no flannel.

Both. Quick-turnaround contractors or permanent hires to build the future. Whatever the job needs, we’ve got the people.

We’ve been in Maritime recruitment for over 40 years. We don’t just understand the skills - we get the mindset. The right people, not just the right CVs.
