Job description
In this permanent role, you will be integral to delivering a key service that enhances the protection of military platforms through advanced radar signature measurement and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy as a member of the trial delivery team, including operating carry-on-board equipment on RN platforms.
- Lead the measurement team during trials when required.
- Support trial planning activities, encompassing technical, safety, security, and logistics aspects.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and Security requirements at trials sites.
- Provide technical expertise for investment and customer projects.
- Support the delivery of new RCS measurement and analysis capabilities into service.
- Contribute to the operation of the RCS facility, proactively seeking process improvements.
- Assist facility engineering teams in maintaining and developing systems and equipment.
Job Requirements:
Essential Education, Qualifications and Training:
- Degree-level background in physics, engineering, or mathematics or with equivalent relevant experience.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in radar systems (general, front-end RF/MW sub-systems, antennas).
- Understanding of physics (electromagnetism).
- Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing and Radar Cross Section (RCS).
- Experience in RF test and measurement.
- Strong IT skills, including word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Must hold a full driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Detailed RCS experience in modelling, measurements, and high-resolution imaging.
- History of working in military environments.
- Experience with radio communications.
- Health and Safety qualifications and experience.
- Data science skills and use of MATLAB.
