Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy within the rail industry, is actively seeking a Signalling Project Engineer to join their team.

Introduction


As a Signalling Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of rail projects. With your expertise in signalling, you will contribute to the development and implementation of signalling systems, ensuring their reliability and safety on both existing and upcoming rail networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project team to design and develop signalling solutions that meet client requirements
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and drawings
  • Perform detailed design calculations and simulations for signalling systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess the feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Support the testing, commissioning, and handover of signalling projects
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in signalling project engineering within the rail industry
  • Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes
  • Proficiency in essential signalling design software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Excellent understanding of safety regulations and practices within the rail industry
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Flexibility to travel to different project sites as required


Our client offers competitive rates and a challenging work environment with exciting opportunities to contribute to the Northern Powerhouse Rail workload. This is a 1-year initial contract and the position is inside IR35.
