Job description

Introduction

As a Pway CRE, You will play a crucial role in managing the engineering team, planning works, reviewing designs, and ensuring the smooth operations of the Permanent Way department. This is a contract position within IR35.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects
• Plan and oversee all works related to the Permanent Way department
• Review and approve designs to meet safety and regulatory standards
• Occasionally attend site to provide technical expertise and support
• Utilize your significant experience in track renewals to ensure the successful execution of projects
• Demonstrate a strong background and expertise in stressing and tamping processes
• Showcase your expertise in plain line and switches and crossings (S&C) works
• Hold a valid PTS ticket for working on the rail network
• Stressing ticket preferred, but not essential

Job Requirements

• Principle Technical Officer/Lead engineer experience
• Experience as a P-Way CRE within the Rail industry
• Proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize works to meet project deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
