About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical/Avionics Compliance Verification Engineer to join a UK CAA Part 21J Design Organisation.

This position is responsible for the compliance verification and technical review of electrical and avionics design and certification data, supporting aircraft modifications and system integrations. The role sits at a mid to senior level and includes leadership responsibilities, overseeing design and certification activities from initial concept through to release into service while collaborating closely with Production and Maintenance Organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify compliance of electrical and avionics design data within a Part 21J environment.
  • Conduct technical reviews and approvals of certification documentation.
  • Support aircraft modification and integration projects in line with applicable airworthiness regulations.
  • Lead and coordinate engineering and certification activities across multiple projects.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and other engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure certification programmes, compliance checklists, and supporting documentation meet regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft Electrical Systems and/or Avionic Systems.
  • Detailed understanding of Part 21 regulations and CS/FAR 23 and 25 requirements.
  • Proven experience delivering complex aircraft design and integration projects within an airworthiness-regulated environment.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and verify certification programmes, compliance checklists, and associated certification documentation.
  • Experience in compliance verification and review of some or all of the following:
    • Electrical Load Analyses
    • Equipment Assessments
    • EWIS and EZAP Analysis
    • Electromagnetic Compatibility Assessments
    • Ground and Functional Test Plans and Reports
    • System Safety Assessments
    • Functional Hazard Assessments

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with one or more of the following aircraft types:
    • Beechcraft King Air
    • Piper PA-31
    • Boeing 737
    • Boeing 757
  • Experience supporting special mission aircraft modification programmes.
