Our client, a leading organisation in the water sector, is seeking a Senior General Foreman to join its permanent, site-based Construction team on a project within the UU region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Construction Manager and Site Manager in coordinating and controlling site activities
- Assisting with the initial site set-up and implementing appropriate frameworks, systems and procedures
- Coordinating and supervising a section of work on major projects or controlling all site activities on smaller projects
- Applying and enforcing methods and controls to ensure the effective and continuous use of site resources
- Supporting the assessment of security risks and implementing suitable security measures for property and equipment
- Maintaining and enforcing statutory health, safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies
- Ensuring all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and risk assessments
- Monitoring compliance with HSQE policies, procedures, programme requirements and budget controls
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a senior general foreman, general foreman or site supervision role within civil engineering
- Experience within the water industry
- ONC or HNC in a construction-related discipline
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Valid First Aid qualification
- Confined space training is desirable
- Strong understanding of construction site management, health and safety and environmental requirements
- Ability to interpret and work in accordance with method statements, risk assessments and project programmes
