Job description

Planning Engineer with experience of working on rail projects using Primavera P6 required for a contract opportunity in York.

The role offers hybrid working, but candidates must be able to go to the York office 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain project schedules, integrating supply chain, and possibly 3rd party client activities
• Establish the Performance Management Baseline based on the Accepted Programme and incorporate time risk analysis
• Progress the schedule in line with project governance, identify variances, and work with project teams to develop recovery plans
• Be conversant in earned value, resource and cost loaded programmes, and critical path analysis
• Analyse and ensure the quality of supplier schedules, closing any actions
• Become an intrinsic part of the Project Delivery team, providing stakeholders with clear project information and potential slippage mitigation
• Attend key stakeholder meetings as a representative of the planning function
• Develop what-if scenarios to support future phase development
• Provide schedule data and reports to key stakeholders
• Support other teams with monitoring, control, assurance, risk, and value activities

To be considered for the role:

• Significant experience with Oracle Primavera P6
• Ideally experience of working in the rail industry if not another infrastructure market
• Proactive and positive approach to their work
