Protecting our candidates, clients and partners from recruitment fraud

Gattaca PLC is committed to protecting candidates, clients and business partners from fraudulent activity involving the misuse of our corporate identity, recruitment brands and employee details.

This notice explains how to recognise potential impersonation, verify genuine communications and report suspected fraud.

Fraudsters may attempt to impersonate Gattaca Plc, our employees or our recruitment brands, including Matchtech, Gattaca Projects and InfoSec People.

These activities can involve fraudulent emails, websites, job advertisements, telephone calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages and other online communications.

We take impersonation and recruitment fraud seriously and work to protect the integrity of our organisation and the people who interact with us.

Our Commitment to Safe Recruitment

Gattaca PLC and its recruitment brands confirm that:

  • We will never ask candidates to pay recruitment fees, transfer money or make cryptocurrency payments to secure employment.
  • We will never ask candidates to participate in fraudulent activities, impersonate another individual or misrepresent their identity.
  • We will not ask candidates to install remote access software or grant access to their devices as part of an unsolicited recruitment approach.
  • We will never ask for passwords, authentication codes or access to personal or business accounts.
  • Our employees will not pressure candidates into making immediate financial decisions.
  • Genuine recruitment communications should always be capable of independent verification through our official websites and contact channels.

Please remember: Receiving a message that appears to come from Gattaca Plc or one of our recruitment brands does not, by itself, guarantee that the communication is genuine.

How Recruitment Fraud and Impersonation Work

Fraudsters may misuse company names, employee identities, branding and online platforms to appear legitimate.

Their aim may be to obtain money, steal personal information, compromise accounts or gain unauthorised access to devices and systems.

Common warning signs include:

  • Emails originating from domains that closely resemble our official domains.
  • Fake recruitment consultants using genuine employee names, photographs or job titles.
  • Unsolicited recruitment approaches through WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or social media.
  • Fraudulent job advertisements offering unusually high earnings, guaranteed employment or unrealistic opportunities.
  • Requests for upfront payments, cryptocurrency transactions or banking information.
  • Requests to download unfamiliar software, follow suspicious links or provide remote access to a device.
  • Pressure to provide identity documents or sensitive personal information before a recruitment opportunity has been verified.
  • Communications that create unnecessary urgency or discourage you from independently checking their legitimacy.

Such activities are not authorised by Gattaca Plc or its recruitment brands.

How to Protect Yourself

If you receive a communication from someone claiming to represent Gattaca Plc, Matchtech or another Gattaca Group brand, we recommend taking the following precautions:

  1. Check the sender's email address. Examine the full address carefully for misspellings, additional characters, unexpected words or unusual domain extensions.
  2. Verify the recruiter independently. Contact our organisation using the details published on our official websites rather than relying solely on contact information provided in a suspicious message.
  3. Never transfer money to secure employment. Do not make recruitment payments, purchase cryptocurrency or transfer funds in response to an unsolicited job opportunity.
  4. Be cautious with messaging platforms. Unexpected requests to move conversations to WhatsApp, Telegram or similar services should be treated carefully, particularly where the sender refuses to communicate through verifiable company channels.
  5. Protect your personal information. Avoid sharing identification documents, financial details, passwords or authentication codes until you have verified the legitimacy of the request and the recipient.
  6. Avoid suspicious links and downloads. Do not install unfamiliar software or provide remote access to your device at the request of an unverified individual.
  7. Be alert to pressure tactics. Fraudsters may create a false sense of urgency to prevent you from questioning their requests.

If you are uncertain whether a communication is genuine, stop engaging with the sender until you have independently verified their identity.

Our Official Domains

The following are recognised domains associated with Gattaca Plc and its recruitment brands:

  • gattacaplc.com — Gattaca PLC corporate website

Reporting Suspicious Communications

If you believe you have been contacted by someone fraudulently claiming to represent Gattaca Plc, Matchtech or another Gattaca Group brand, please report the activity to us.

If You Have Already Been Affected

If you believe you have disclosed sensitive information, transferred money or provided access to your accounts or devices:

  • Stop communicating with the suspected fraudster.
  • Contact your bank or financial provider immediately if money or payment information is involved.
  • Change potentially compromised passwords and contact the relevant account providers.
  • Report suspected fraud to the appropriate national reporting authority.
  • Preserve relevant messages, emails and other evidence.

In the UK, suspected fraud can be reported through Report Fraud.
